I am excited that close to all of our secondary schools are welcoming students into our AVID family! As South High School has laid the groundwork for us, our goal is to establish an AVID family here in Waukesha that can help implement and sustain AVID Schoolwide for as many students as possible.

AVID is Schoolwide when a strong AVID system transforms the Instruction, Systems, Leadership, and Culture of a school, ensuring college readiness for all AVID Elective students and improved academic performance for all students based on increased opportunities.

IF the entire instructional staff utilizes AVID strategies, THEN we can reach improved academic performance for all students.

IF systems are in place that support data collection, analysis, professional development, and student/parent outreach, THEN we increase college and career readiness.

IF leadership sets the vision and tone that promotes college readiness and high expectations for all students in the school, THEN our students succeed.

IF our culture shifts in beliefs and behaviors around the AVID philosophy, THEN we will see an increase of students meeting college and career readiness requirements.

AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. Together, Waukesha can positively change the life trajectory for our students!
